Canva and Reading Comprehension

  

Hello everyone I am Alison Valle.I am 20 years old ,I was born on Ambato.I am a very shy,creative and friendly girl.I live with my mother,father,sisters,grandparents and my little dog Max.

 

In my free time I like to draw landscapes ,listen to music,spend time with my family,watch series and  movies,makeup,reas books about fantasy,dance,sing and play soccer and basket.💚

I am currently studying at the Technical University of Ambato the career of Pedagogy of National and Foreign Languages, I chose this career because I feel that learning a second language such as English is very beneficial because it gives us many personal and work opportunities.

My future goals are to graduate from my career, to be a good teacher, to travel around the world and to meet new people and new cultures.😘

   

Canva is a free digital application that helps us to create different, creative and interactive presentations.this app has different templates that help to get a beautiful and eye-catching work.you can also place videos, images and put our voice.😊

One advantage we can mention about this application is that it is very easy to use and anyone without previous knowledge can use it. It has a great variety of templates and elements that help us to create creative and innovative works.

One of the disadvantages that we can mention is that despite having a free version to create simple things unfortunately there are some images and templates that are not available. The premium version is more useful for companies that provide creativity and originality.

With canva you can create logos, posters, business cards. brochures, covers, programs and invitations, brochures, calendars, schedules, email headers, social media posts

Reading comprehension is the ability to read text, process it and understand its meaning. It relies on two, interconnected abilities: word reading (being able to decode the symbols on the page) and language comprehension (being able to understand the meaning of the words and sentences).

Good comprehension is vital if reading is to have a purpose, if a reader is to engage with and learn from a text and, ultimately, if a reader is to enjoy what they’re reading.💓

Most used and studied types of reading. 

Sequential reading: The reader reads the text from beginning to end without interruptions. It is the most natural way of reading. 

Extensive reading. The objective of this type of reading is based on the enjoyment of the general meaning of the text. 

Intensive reading. It is used to obtain detailed information; it is necessary to understand all the words and understand everything. Therefore, it is more demanding reading. 

Critical reading. It leads us to evaluate what we read. What matters is the meaning of the words, our opinion and judgment about them.

The importance of reading  comprehension It helps us build a better vocabulary, identify the veracity of information, communicate better, and develop and improve our ability to synthesize ideas.

Canva can be used as a pedagogical tool by teachers, to create such tools in a creative and attractive way for students, images and interactive themes can be added to help students' reading comprehension.

In conclusion, the Canva application with its innovative designs and tools help the pedagogical tools that teachers implement for reading comprehension to be more appealing to students and to generate a dynamic class so that students can learn in a better way and achieve the reading comprehension that is expected using the materials provided by Canva to improve their learning.
